Since I am italian and this is one of the only books that have been transleated into english I decided to talk about it and give you some kind of idea about what does it talks about and if it is worth reading it or not.
This book has been written by Elisa Morante, an italian author, and published in 1959.
This book tells the story of a small boy that grows in the Island of Procida in Naples.
This little kid grows up just by himself and his dog Immacolatella, with just the idea of how big and strong his dad was.
Infact his dad has always been leaving his son to to to some kind of speditions overseas that we will never know anything about.
So this little kid is growing up by his self just with the idea that his father is doing great things in his life so that's why he's alone.
One day his dad comes back home with a new wife that is just two years older that Arturo.

He immediately kind of fall in love with her but when she had her own baby and didn't give that many attentions to Arturo anymore, and when she also refuses his love he gets mad and runs away also because he discovered that his dad was not what he thought he was.
This is not one of the best books that I have ever read in my life but I did not hate it.
It talks about fact that everyone of us has experienced before, like the crush that you had on your teacher, instructer or anything else, when you thought that your parents went in mission when they went to work instead.
So it talkes about many things that all of us have experienced in our life, we can kind of relate.
My mark for this book is six and a half out of ten, yeah it's not my favuorite but it is still readable.
